According to art. 105 of Polish Law on Higher Education a student has a right for 50% discount on Public Transport (no age limitations) and trains (until 26 years old).

Students which have our Electronic Student Card may use it as a public transport season ticket (Metropolitan ticket). To make this possible, make sure you go to one of the Ticket points of sale (address and open hours are available here) to formatize your Electronic Student Card so it may be used as Krakow Metropolitan ticket.
Student card also gives you discount for museums and some events entry tickets.
